Say goodbye to Jeff Driskel.

Florida fans might be saying good riddance.

Driskel, the much maligned former starting quarterback at Florida, is transferring to Louisiana Tech.

He’s the third Gators QB to leave the program in the past two years, joining Jacoby Brissett, who went to North Carolina State, and Tyler Murphy, who was at Boston College in 2014.

Driskel, who will be a fifth-year senior and eligible to play in 2015, lost his job to Treon Harris this fall.

Here’s what he said in a statement:

“I look forward to the upcoming chapter of my life. I have nothing but good things to say about the University of Florida and the football program there. … Although things did not play out on the field as I would have liked, I have no regrets on the choice I made to attend UF.”

ESPN.com's Edward Aschoff summed up Driskel's career with the Gators in this article.

Driskel never lived up to the hype that preceded him. He was no Tim Tebow, but that wasn’t all his fault. A broken leg and a million offensive coordinators didn’t help.

Transferring worked out well for both Brissett and Murphy.

Brissett led N.C. State to an 8-5 record and a 34-27 win over UCF in the St. Petersburg Bowl. Murphy rushed for 1,184 yards — a single-season ACC record for QBs — and 11 TDs to lead Boston College to spot in the Pinstripe Bowl, where the Eagles lost to Penn State 31-30.

Driskel threw for 3,411 yards with 23 TDs and 20 interceptions, and ran for 644 yards and nine scores at Florida.
