So much for the streak of rain-free days.

Showers entered metro Atlanta about 4 p.m. and have since lowered temperatures in to the 70s, Channel 2 Action News reported. Rains did not turn severe, and don’t expect that to change Friday when there is a 30 percent chance of rain.

The air should be dry with cloud skies overnight, but rain should pick up about 7 a.m. for the early morning commute. Showers should be isolated with a high of 85 degrees.

Currently, 74 degrees in Atlanta, but high temperatures are expected to stay in the 80s the rest of the week, according to the news station.

Rains should remain throughout the weekend, with a slim chance of showers Saturday.

High temperatures are expected to stay in the 80s the rest of the week in metro Atlanta, Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Karen Minton said. (Credit: Channel 2 Action News)
