Attention, metro Atlanta. Better enjoy the warm weather while it lasts through Saturday afternoon, because it’ll be changing quickly.

Temperatures should be “well above average” in the low to mid-80s, Channel 2 Meteorologist Katie Walls said. A high of 85 is expected.

However, a strong downturn is expected by the time Sunday rolls around, Walls said. Sunday’s high is projected at 69 degrees, as well as an 80 percent chance of rain.

“After sunset, the rain chance will really ramp up,” Walls said. Isolated strong storms are expected in the metro area, and hail is possible.

Monday looks similar, with a high of 70 forecast, as well as a 20 percent chance of rain.

Shortly after 5:15 p.m., temps were at 81 in Atlanta, 84 in Griffin and 77 in Blairsville.

Partly cloudy for your Saturday afternoon
