The weather will again be warmer than usual for a busy Saturday in metro Atlanta.

“We are starting off December well above average,” Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Katie Walls said Saturday morning.

A high of 66 is expected, which was also Friday’s high, with no rain in the forecast.

However, the temperature already was at 70 by about 3:45 p.m.

That likely played well with the thousands of people who watched and participated in the Children’s Christmas Parade on Peachtree Street.

And it will make life easier for the thousands who will head for Mercedes-Benz Stadium for the 4 p.m. kickoff of the SEC Championship game between Auburn and Georgia.

Compare Saturday’s temperature with the average temperature of 58 for this date.

Walls also said there will be “very little in the way of sunshine expected.”

Sunday also should be warm, with a high of 68 expected.
