Atlanta reached 88 degrees Wednesday afternoon, breaking the record of 86 degrees set in 2014, according to Channel 2 Action News.

“We should be enjoying lows in the mid-50s, highs in the mid-70s,” Channel 2 meteorologist Brad Nitz said. “That’s some beautiful fall weather.”

Instead, the humidity is high and the chance of rain is at 20 percent.

The current temperature in Atlanta is 78 degrees, Channel 2 reported.

The humidity should come down Thursday morning, when rain chances fall to zero, Nitz said.

Yes, but it won't be as muggy. It's a dry heat.

Thursday’s expected high is 85 degrees, and temps in the 80s are expected through the weekend.

A stronger cold front is expected to move through the area with some showers early next week, bringing a chance for some temps a little closer to the 74-degree average by midweek, meteorologist Brian Monahan said.
