The sun came out in parts of metro Atlanta, but light showers could come later, according to Channel 2 Action News.
Emphasis on could.
While the current forecast calls for a 30 percent chance of rain, “I think most of us are going to stay dry,” Channel 2 meteorologist Brian Monahan said.
That is welcome news to metro Atlanta, which dealt with high winds and heavy downpours during Irma, a devastating system that took at least two lives in metro Atlanta. Both were crushed by falling trees.
Wind speeds that once reached the 70s won’t get out of the teens on Wednesday, Channel 2 reported.
And the temperature is already in the 70s in Atlanta, making Wednesday the warmest day since Irma.
The expected high is 76, which is below the average high of 83 for this time of year.
"Cool pockets of air with Irma (are) here right now," Monahan said. "But it's moving away."
A high of 80 is in the forecast for Thursday, and temps could reach 84 Friday, Channel 2 reported.
