Showers that fell on metro Atlanta and snarled traffic in DeKalb County on Tuesday afternoon have moved east.
Channel 2 Action News Chief meteorologist Glenn Burns said isolated showers are expected in North Georgia later Tuesday.
The good news is the wet weather should wash away some of that pollen, Channel 2 meteorologist Brad Nitz said.
Wednesday has a 30 percent chance of rain, which decreases to a 20 percent chance Thursday, Burns said.
After 1,072 particles of pollen per cubic meter of air Monday, the count dropped to 469 on Tuesday, according to Atlanta Allergy and Asthma. This time last year, the pollen count was 267.
Currently, the temperature is 74 degrees.
Atlanta’s high for Tuesday was 81 degrees. The average high for this time of year is 73.
