After a week that featured a couple of record high temperatures, metro Atlanta should cool off a bit during the weekend.

A cold front now in the Midwest is expected to bring some cooler weather with it.

“Big changes are indeed on the way,” Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Katie Walls said Saturday morning.

After a high of 83 Friday, the mercury is expected to top out at 80 Saturday, with a low of 63 forecast for Saturday night.

Sunday’s high is forecast at 82, with a 30 percent chance of afternoon rain.

A big change should be felt Monday, when the temperature is expected to reach 71.

Shortly after 5 p.m., the temperature was 72 in Atlanta.
