There will be some sun Saturday and for the rest of the weekend in metro Atlanta. But it could be hard to find with the expected clouds and showers.

“There will be some downpours developing in the heat of the day,” Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Brian Monahan said.

It seems a front has gotten stuck in the area, and it has brought “muggy air, tropical air that’s ready to create some downpours,” Monahan said.

Chance of rain is at 40 percent Saturday and Sunday, and it increases to 60 percent Monday.

Friday’s high was 88, and it’s expected to reach that figure again Saturday, which is 1 degree short of the average for the date. Sunday’s high should hit 89

About 4:50 p.m., temps were at 88 in Atlanta, 91 in Griffin and 86 in Dalton.

Isolated showers possible Saturday
