Temperatures reached the 60s in Atlanta, and expect them to be even higher Friday.

It’s currently 63 degrees in Atlanta, a far cry from the near-freezing temps early Thursday morning.

In more good weather news, the pollen count has dropped from the extremely high 4,667 particles per cubic meter of air Wednesday to 1,254 Thursday, according to Atlanta Allergy and Asthma.

Wednesday’s count eclipsed last year’s season high of 3,559 and the 2016 season high of 4,106.

“Yesterday morning’s rain and cooler temperatures helped reduce the pollen for the past 24 hours,” Channel 2 meteorologist Karen Minton said. “It is now in the high range.”

The average high for this time of year is 70, Channel 2 reported. The city should surpass that mark Friday, when a 73-degree high is in the forecast.

The next chance of rain isn't until Friday night into Saturday, Minton said. There is a 60 percent chance Saturday, and the high is expected to drop to 61.
