Snow! It’s gonna snow in metro Atlanta!
OK, probably not — but a bitter cold front is definitely moving in.
After a sunny, relatively warm Saturday afternoon, clouds will return overnight and into Sunday morning, bringing with them the chance of light snow showers in the “far north Georgia counties” like Habersham and Rabun, Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Brian Monahan said. After 6 a.m. or so, “a few snowflakes” may even make an appearance in the northern reaches of metro Atlanta but any kind of accumulation is unlikely, even in the mountains, Monahan said.
Sunday’s forecast calls for a high of 50 degrees and a low of 38 — still several degrees north of freezing.
That will change for the start of the work week, when an arctic front will move in. Monday is expected to bring a high of 40 and a low of 30, with Tuesday’s low a bone-chilling 20 degrees.
