Much of the storms that covered metro Atlanta have headed east for the night.

Thunderstorm warnings issued for Barrow, DeKalb and Gwinnett counties have since expired and scattered showers are expected to last through 10 p.m., according to Channel 2 Action News.

Rain could return overnight.

Meteorologists predict isolated showers through the early part of Saturday.

But there’s some good news: warm weather is here to stay. Saturday’s expected high is 76 degrees and Sunday could reach 81 degrees. The 80-degree weather should continue into next week. Currently, the temperature is 69 degrees in Atlanta.

The pollen count is down from 87 Thursday to 27 particles per cubic meter of air, according to Atlanta Allergy and Asthma.
