ATLANTA FORECAST

Today: Rain becoming steady in afternoon. High: 68

Tonight: Cloudy. Low: 40

Tomorrow: Partly cloudy. High: 56

The warm, rainy weather that has hung around metro Atlanta will prevail again Saturday. But not much longer.

“By lunchtime, I think we’ll see the rain,” Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Brian Monahan said.

Showers began moving into metro Atlanta around midday and could make for a wet and stormy afternoon.

And though winter officially is in effect, the temperature doesn’t feel like it. About 5:30 p.m., it was 62 degrees, down from an earlier 68. That’s well above the average of 52 for this date.

But Sunday should see a high of 56, with just a 10 percent chance of rain.

And Christmas Day, as has previously been forecast, should be much cooler. The low temperature should be near freezing, with a high in the mid-40s.

But near-freezing weather means there’s still no snow in the forecast for Christmas in metro Atlanta.

The five-day weather forecast for metro Atlanta shows a low temperature in the 30s on Christmas Day.
