Saturday was sunny and unseasonably warm for most of metro Atlanta, and Sunday promises to bring much of the same.

But it may only be a few days before rain returns, Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Brian Monahan said.

Sunday will be around 40 degrees to start but warm to around 65, Monahan said. Monday and Tuesday will be similar — with highs of 63 and 69 degrees, respectively — but clouds and the chance for rain will mount.

“By Wednesday the next stronger front gets here,” Monahan said, “with showers and some thunderstorm chances, high temperatures in the middle 60s.”

The forecast currently holds for an 80 percent chance of precipitation Wednesday.
