The snow is behind us, but rainy days are on the way in metro Atlanta.
Temperatures that climbed to the 50s Monday afternoon will continue to increase Tuesday before dropping to the upper-40s Wednesday, Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Karen Minton said.
There’s a 60 percent chance of rain Tuesday and Wednesday.
Still, it's a welcomed change from weekend weather that dumped as much as 2 inches of snow and a tenth of an inch of ice on metro Atlanta, causing downed trees, icy patches of road and sporadic power outages. And it was worse in north Georgia. Weather impacts lingered in those areas and in Cobb County Monday.
An ice patch caused a crash early Monday morning on Veterans Memorial Highway at Henderson Road, said Mark Arum, of the WSB 24-hour Traffic Center. But crews have since treated the ice.
Rabun and Habersham county schools announced Monday closings, and schools in other northern areas are delayed two hours, meteorologist Brad Nitz said.

Temps hovered at 53 degrees in Atlanta, 52 degrees in Blairsville and 54 degrees in Griffin just after 1:30 p.m.
“You’ll see a few high clouds in the area, but otherwise dry,” Minton said. “More clouds will start to roll in during the afternoon, but again not blocking out the sun totally.”
Temps will cool to the lower 50s by 7 p.m.
