Thursday’s morning sprinkles should be replaced by afternoon sunshine, with dry and cooler weather on tap for the weekend.

Channel 2 meteorologist Karen Minton said the morning showers developed along a cold front that will drop weekend lows into the 30s across metro Atlanta.

Weather radar at 9 a.m. showed an area of light rain drifting across the northern suburbs, with a larger area of heavier showers moving across extreme northwest Georgia.

After a 20 percent chance of morning rain, mostly sunny skies are expected by Thursday afternoon, when highs will be around 70 degrees.

Friday through Sunday will be sunny, with highs around 60 degrees on Friday and in the mid-50s Saturday and Sunday. Morning lows will be in the mid-40s Friday, then drop to around 37 degrees Saturday and 36 Sunday, Minton said.

Atlanta’s normal high for mid-November is 65, and the normal low is 46.
