Twitter is making some big changes.

Earlier this week, the company announced it would be expanding the character limit for tweets from 140 characters to 280. Not everyone thinks it’s a good idea.

Twitter’s team released a statement Tuesday, revealing that the site plans to experiment with a longer limit by making it available to a  select group of users for a limited time.

"We want every person around the world to easily express themselves on Twitter, so we're doing something new," Twitter said on its blog.

While the social media platform is only testing out the feature, many folks have already given it a failing grade. Tweeps quickly hopped online to express their disapproval.

Others said they would much rather have an edit feature on Twitter.

There were some who expressed concern about President Donald Trump possibily writing even more on social media.
