A Houston restaurant specializing in what it calls “elevated” chicken and waffles has opened an Atlanta ghost kitchen.
Taste Bar + Kitchen recently debuted in the Forrest Eatery ghost kitchen complex at 800 Forrest St. NW, with an Atlanta brick-and-mortar location set to open in the Atlantic building at 270 17th St. NW in the Atlantic Station neighborhood in the next six months.
The menu of “globally-inspired” Southern cuisine offers a variety of chicken and waffles including General Tso’s, Nashville Hot, Cinnamon Toast Crunch and Peach Cobbler. There’s also a selection of mac and cheese like Truffle Smoked Gouda and Bacon and Lobster Smoked Gouda. The Taste of Soul plate is served with smothered chicken, collard greens, candied yams, rice and gravy and your choice of house-made cornbread or biscuit.
Chef Don Bowie opened Taste Bar + Kitchen in 2019.
Taste is open from 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Sundays-Thursdays and 11a.m.-1 a.m. Fridays-Saturdays. Delivery is available via the Taste Bar + Kitchen app, DoorDash and UberEats.
