NASA has come up with a new take on an old arachnid -- a robotic spider that "prints" in 3D.

The "Spider-fab" as it's been named will help astronauts print in the zero gravity of space making larger structures possible.  Right now, engineers are limited because of cargo holds and gravity.  To be able to build in space, all you need is the Spider-fab, the printing materials and a plan.

The Spider-fab is still in the development phase.
