Are you tired of slow download speeds and the annoying buffering?
Scientists at the University College London may have the answer to your frustration.
The smart guys across the pond have sent data at 1.125 terabits per second, Gizmodo reported.
And for those of us who don't know a megabyte from a terabyte, that means you could download the entire series of "Game of Thrones" in HD in not one hour, not 10 minutes, not even a minute, but in ONE SECOND!
It works by breaking the data down to send on 15 channels, which are eventually combined into a single signal called a "super channel." On the other end of chain is a high bandwidth receiver, Gizmodo reported.
The high speed isn't quite ready for prime time. The experimenters connected the transmitter to the receiver directly. The next step is to link them with optical fibers. So, don't look for HBO's one-second GOT download tomorrow.
