This week on our 512tech segment on "Texas Standard" radio, we talked about ways that virtual reality tech can go beyond video gaming and movies and into education and safety training.

Specifically, we talked with host David Brown about "Safety in a Box" a new VR app from Texas Mutual that we wrote about earlier this week. David got to try the app for himself using Google Cardboard, as you can hear in the segment over on Texas Standard, or embedded below.

The timing of the segment was unintentionally prescient; shortly after the radio segment aired, a trench accident at a construction site was reported downtown.
