Austin startup Besomebody is relocating its headquarters to Boston, founder Kash Shaikh said on Snapchat and in a Facebook live video on Wednesday. The company's staff of four will split with two staying in Austin and the other two, including Shaikh, operating out of Massachusetts, where the company hopes to draw investors and expand nationwide, he said in the video.

The company made an app that allowed those seeking life experiencing to be paired up with experts at anything from yoga to writing to rock climbing. The company's black t-shirts became a common sight around Austin and its "#besomebody" hashtag and billboards weren't frequently seen by accident: Shaikh had a background in marketing at companies including Procter & Gamble and GoPro before starting the hashtag and the company. But it was not without controversy, including a social media incident involving an appearance at Austin High School last year and an incident in which a mural was painted over.

Shaikh was a guest on the "Statesman Shots" podcast where he spoke about the company's origins and his goals for it back in December 2014.
