"A new Homepod and studio-quality over-hear headphones" are expected as early as next year, Bloomberg reported Monday.

The over-ear headphones, originally slated for a late 2018 debut, will likely launch next year. These headphones, according to Bloomberg, would compete with pricey models from Bose Corp. and Sennheiser.

In addition to the rumored over-ear model, Apple’s upgrade to its current wireless AirPods models intends to improve noise cancellation and add water resistant technology.

The new buds are likely to be priced higher than the current $159 for AirPods.

Some upgrades, including a new chip and support for hands-free Siri activation, are planned for later this year.
