The date was planned and now the matchup is set: The Denver Broncos will face the Carolina Panthers in Super Bowl 50.

Football fans gearing up for the big game will likely need some deep pockets to make it to the stands at Levi Stadium in Santa Clara, California, Feb. 7.

The starting price of tickets is hovering around $3,800 on Stubhub. Not including other transportation costs to get to the game, the parking pass to get to the stadium is $68.

"Transportation is definitely going to be more critical this year," Brian Learst, CEO of QuintEvents, a company that partners with the NFL to sell Super Bowl travel packages told Credit.com. Stadium parking is limited, which is contributing to higher ground transportation prices than what has been in other cities. Learst said people will have to spend "a couple hundred dollars" getting to the game.

While the game is in Santa Clara, the host city is nearby San Francisco, one of the most expensive places in the country to live, according to the Council for Community and Economic Research's Cost of Living Index.

Hotels there range from $65 to $1,249 on Priceline.com, according to NBC News. There is always the Airbnb route, however average rates in San Francisco are $247 a night with an expected increase to $311the weekend of the big game.

Of course, for the really big spenders there is the Ultimate VIP Package offered by Vivid Seats. The $550,000 package for you and your 20 closest friends includes round trip tickets on a chartered flight, double occupancy rooms at a four-star hotel in Santa Clara, admittance to the NFL experience, parties and other events, and, of course, tickets to the big game.

Still, that's cheaper than the $4.8 million San Francisco taxpayers are on the hook to pay to host the game and the weeklong bevy of events.
