The Braves lost to the Yankees Tuesday night and lost ground to one team in the NL East too.

The second-place Phillies beat the Orioles and picked up a game on the Braves in the standings.

The other teams in the East lost their games. The Nationals lost to the Red Sox and the Mets fell to the Blue Jays. The Marlins lost to the Rays in 16 innings.
