Former Olympic gymnast Aly Raisman spoke out against Larry Nassar Friday on the last day of the disgraced USA Gymnastics doctor’s four-day sentencing.

Raisman— who continually called herself a “survivor”, not a victim— called out USA Gymnastics and the United States Olympic Committee for their empty promises and apathy toward victims and requested the organizations begin to make real change and uncover the extent of Nassar’s abuse.

“Each new day seems to bring a new survivor,” Raisman said. “We have no idea how much damage you caused, Larry, and we have no idea how deep these problems go. Now is the time to acknowledge the very person who sits before us now who perpetrated the worst epidemic of sexual abuse in the history of sports who is going to locked up for a long, long time.

“This monster was also the architect of the policies and procedures that were supposed to protect athletes from sexual abuse both from USA Gymnastics and the USOC.”

Raisman asked for Judge Rosemarie Aquilina to give Nassar the "strongest possible sentence" to send a message to former Olympic doctor and other abusers that the evil act of sexual assault will not be tolerated.
