Player ratings for Atlanta United following Wednesday’s 1-0 loss at D.C. United at RFK Stadium:

Goalkeeper Brad Guzan, 6: Making his fourth start this season, he got down to his right to stop a though shot by Luciano Acosta in the 16th minute. ... Made himself big to cause a corner off a Loyd Sam shot in the 42nd minute. ... Couldn’t do anything to stop the goal after parrying away the first shot. ... Finished with six saves.

Right fullback Anton Walkes, 5: Making his seventh start, Walkes wasn’t at fault on the opening goal. He moved inside to mark a man, and no one filled in behind him. He wasn’t able to get down the wing and put in any crosses.

Centerback Michael Parkhurst, 4: Making his 23rd start, he had an unfortunate own goal for D.C. United’s opener. There was really nothing he could do to stop the shot from going off him and in in the 46th minute.

Centerback Leandro Gonzalez Pirez, 6: Making his 23rd start, Pirez spent a lot of time again holding up his hands for offsides calls and to protest other calls. ... He finished with three tackles, one interception, four clearances and 11 recoveries.

Left fullback Greg Garza, 5: Making his 21st start, and first since suffering a shoulder injury in the MLS All-Star game, he was able to get up his flank, but had no crosses.

Holding midfielder Jeff Larentowicz, 5: Making his 20th start, he had five clearances, five tackles, three recoveries and one long-range shot that D.C. United goalkeeper Bill Hamid was able to catch and hold.

Holding midfielder Carlos Carmona, 4: Making his 20th start, he picked up a yellow card in the second half. Because of yellow card accumulation, he will miss Saturday’s game at Philadelphia. ...

Right midfielder Hector Villalba, 4: Making his 23rd start,  he had a good shot in the 12th minute that took a deflection. It took a slight bit of acrobatics for Bill Hamid to make the save. ... Didn’t hustle back on defense on the sequence that started and resulted in D.C. United’s 1-0 lead.

Attacking midfielder Miguel Almiron, 5: Making his 23rd start, he hit a cross across the goal that should have been a tap-in but no on was there. ... He followed that less than a minute later with a sliding shot that went just wide. ... He had two key passes.

Left midfielder Yamil Asad, 5: Making his 21st start,  Asad had very little influence on the game. He finished with three key passes.

Striker Josef Martinez, 5: Making his first start after missing the past three games because of a bruised right foot, he had two shots, neither on target. ... D.C. United did a good job shutting down the seams and denying him passes to run onto behind the lines.
