Two Georgia State players named to early 2017 college football award watch lists

Georgia State’s Gabe Mobley and Ari Werts were named to early college football award watch lists.

Junior Gabe Mobley is on the Rimington Trophy watch list. Mobley made the watch list last season during preseason and fall before a season blocking for Conner Manning, who passed for 2,684 yards last season.

Tight end Ari Werts made the John Mackey Award watch list this season after 21 receptions for 329 yards.

Georgia State opens its season at home against Tennessee State on Thursday, Aug. 31.
