Rookie Kevin Huerter scored 13 for the Hawks, making 3-of-4 3-pointers. Kent Bazemore finished with just seven points and had five turnovers and five fouls.

Rodney Hood scored a season-high 26 as the Cavs ended their six-game losing streak to start the season,

It was Cleveland’s first game since coach Tyronn Lue was fired. Lue is a former Hawks player. The Cavs came in as the NBA's only winless team.

But with former Hawks coach Larry Drew serving as Cleveland's "acting" coach while he tries to get the team to restructure his contract, the Cavs played a complete game -- Cleveland had seven players in double figures -- and avoided their first 0-7 start since 1995-96.

The Cavs played their third straight game without forward Kevin Love, who could miss several weeks with a painful left toe injury that has bothered him since the preseason opener.
