Georgia Tech will not renew softball coach Shelly Hoerner’s contract and will begin a national search for a new head coach, director of athletics Todd Stansbury announced on Monday.

Horner completed her fourth season as coach of the Yellow Jackets on Sunday, accumulating an 80-125 overall record. Horner’s ACC record was 32-67.

“I’d like to thank Coach Hoerner for her dedication to Georgia Tech,” Stansbury said in a statement. “She worked tirelessly for our student-athletes over the past four years but, ultimately, I’ve made the difficult decision that new leadership is needed to return our softball program to national prominence. I wish Coach Hoerner and her family nothing but the very best.”
