Here’s a look at some of the top local sports storylines for Monday:

1. Braves' opening day at Mets

The Braves open the 2017 season in New York today at 1 p.m. Julio Teheran will get the start as the Braves begin season three of their rebuilding process.

2. Masters’ week begins in Augusta

Golfers are expected to participate in a practice round on Monday. Follow all breaking news and the AJC's coverage for live Masters' updates from Augusta National.

3. Hawks lose to Nets

Paul Millsap was back for Sunday night's game against the Brooklyn Nets, but the Hawks still lost, 91-82. Hawks reporter Chris Vivlamore analyzes why the Hawks couldn't get the job done and the fight ahead of the Hawks to qualify for playoffs.

4. Two Atlanta United players called to U20 national team

Doug Roberson reports on two Atlanta United players called to the U20 US men's national team on Sunday. Atlanta United's next match is on Saturday night at Toronto FC.

5. Falcons expected to host Bulldog

Falcons reporter D. Orlando Ledbetter reports on a Georgia offensive lineman the Falcons will host on Wednesday for Locals Day, offensive guard Chris Chester's retirement announcement and what the Falcons should focus on during the 2017 NFL Draft.
