Adam Schick won’t return as Atlanta United’s play-by-play man on its radio broadcasts on 92.9 The Game.

The team declined to comment about Schick, but said a replacement would be named at a later date.

Jason Longshore will return as the color analyst, according to a person with knowledge of the situation.

An email to Terry Foxx, program director for 92.9 FM, has not been answered.

Schick issued the following statement:

“Broadcasting Atlanta United on 92.9 The Game has been a tremendous honor. It was my dream to return to my hometown and be a part of this incredible movement, and I’m so proud of the broadcasts we did and the excitement we shared with the remarkable supporters of this club. Unfortunately, the decision to continue in this role will not be left up to me.

“While I’m very disappointed, I’m thankful to everyone at Atlanta United and 92.9 The Game, including Darren Eales, Matt Moore, Terry Foxx, Sean Thompson and of course my partner Jason Longshore for this amazing opportunity. I also want to give a heartfelt thanks to the fans and listeners for their overwhelming support of our broadcasts and welcoming me as part of the Atlanta sports community. I remain passionate about broadcasting , Major League Soccer and my hometown of Atlanta, and I’m looking forward to exploring new and exciting opportunities in the near future.”

Schick grew up in metro Atlanta and went to college at the University of Florida. He joined Atlanta United after serving as the play-by-play man for Orlando City SC.
