Report: Philadelphia 76ers, Joel Embiid agree to five-year, $148 million contract extension

Oct 10, 2017The Philadelphia 76ers and center Joel Embiid agreed to five-year, $148 million contract extension, according to a report by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
In his first season in the NBA, Embiid played in 31 games last season due to injuries. The rookie out of Kansas averaged 20.2 points, 2.1 assists and 7.8 rebounds and shot .466 from the field as a rookie.
Fifty-percent of Embiid's $148 million contract extension is guaranteed, according to a report by The Vertical's Shams Charania.
