How the winning run scored: Red Sox HR Mark Hamilton hit a two-run homer in the first inning and Pawtucket never trailed in the first of four games with Gwinnett at Coolray Field. The loss was the G-Braves' ninth in a row.

At the plate: Gwinnett's Jordan Parraz hit his fourth homer of the season, coming with two outs in the fifth. The G-Braves stranded 13 men on base and struck out 11 times. Gwinnett's Joey Terdoslavich hit his 12th double of the year in the ninth.

On the mound: G-Braves starter Omar Poveda (2-2, 2.33) settled down after Pawtucket's two-run first, allowing just one more run and striking out five in six innings. Gwinnett reliever Wilfin Obispo was charged with two runs in the seventh.

What's next for the G-Braves: Gwinnett plays the second of four games with the Red Sox at 6:05 p.m. LH Daniel Rodriguez (1-2, 7.48) faces Pawtucket right-hander Alfredo Aceves (1-0, 0.00).
