Watch: Atlanta’s Jack McInerney scores another for Portland

May 22, 2016

Atlanta’s Jack McInerney was a very busy man for Portland in Sunday’s 4-2 win over Vancouver in MLS action.

McInerney was pulled down in the penalty box in the third minute, which led to a penalty kick and goal for Diego Valeri.

McInerney followed with his own goal, taking advantage of a slipping defender who should have cut out a tame cross, instead collecting the ball and calmly firing into the opposite corner in the 29th minute.

On his team's fourth goal, McInerney and Darlington Nagbe lined up over a free kick, 20 yards from goal. Instead of taking the kick, McInerney started to make a run toward the goal, which seemed to occupy goalkeeper David Ousted long enough for Nagbe to curl in his free kick.
