Atlanta’s Jack McInerney scored his third goal this season in Portland’s 3-1 win over San Jose on Saturday.

Breaking on a counter attack, McInerney took a heavy touch in the penalty box, but recovered the ball with a slide tackle. He bounced up and sliced a right-footed shot into the left corner. The goal gave the Timbers a 1-0 lead.

McInerney had three shots in the game, which was also his first start this season.

Despite playing just 222 minutes this season, he is Portland’s second-leading scorer.
