Memphis canceled its Sept. 30 game at Georgia State in Atlanta because of schedule reshuffling related to Hurricane Irma.

The Panthers will receive $1.1 million in cancellation fees and expenses, according to Georgia State.

Memphis will now play UCF on Sept. 30 after their Sept. 9 matchup was postponed by the storm.

Georgia State is working to find a replacement game for its first season at Georgia State Stadium -- formerly Turner Field.

“We are disappointed for our fans and our football program with the cancellation of this game, but it is beyond our control,” Georgia State athletic director Charlie Cobb said in a statement. “All we can do is search for a suitable replacement, preferably a home FBS game this season.”
