Lightning strikes in the metro Atlanta have forced the start of Saturday’s game between Atlanta United and Houston to be delayed until 7:55 p.m..

The game was supposed to start at 7 p.m.

Around 6 p.m., a lightning strike within an eight-mile radius forced the gates to be temporarily shut at Georgia Tech’s Bobby Dodd Stadium. Fans will be allowed to enter once an all-clear is given by the National Weather Service.

Any lightning strike within an eight-mile radius of the stadium will force a 30-minute delay from the most-recent strike.
