Georgia's 23-17 win over Notre Dame last season was re-broadcast on the SEC Network Saturday and Bulldogs coach Kirby Smart enthusiastically followed along and shared his thoughts on Twitter.

Several of the key UGA players in the Sept. 21 game also responded to their coach’s tweets.

Smart pitched the idea recently to members of Georgia’s marketing and promotions team and the result was “Virtual G-Day.”

Georgia, like all other SEC football programs, canceled spring practice March 15 just as the coronavirus pandemic began to significantly impact the country. That included the annual intrasquad game, which was to be played at 2 p.m. Saturday and broadcast on the SEC Network.
