Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones became the fastest player in NFL history to record over 9,000 receiving yards with a  14-yard reception in the third quarter of Sunday’s game against the Carolina Panthers.

It took Jones just 95 games to reach the milestone, passing San Diego’s Lance Alworth (98 games), Detroit’s Calvin Johnson (102), St. Louis’ Torry Holt (105), Pittsburgh’s Antonio Brown (107) and Minnesota's Randy Moss (107).

Jones began the day with 8,974 yards, needing just 26 to set the record. He had it with his third catch of the game, 2:50 into the third quarter at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

The Falcons gave away a number of draft picks in 2010 to move up from 27th to sixth in order to draft Jones. Since then, the former Alabama receiver has been a nightmare for opposing cornerbacks. He has been to five Pro Bowls and named a two-time All-Pro wide receiver (2015-16) in seven seasons with the Falcons.

Jones ranks second in career receiving yards in Falcons history, only behind Roddy White (10,863 career receiving yards). By comparison, White only had 6,100 receiving yards through his first 95 NFL games.
