Johnathan Taylor, the UGA outfielder seriously injured during a game, was transferred Friday morning to Atlanta's Shepherd Center.

Taylor, 20, sustained a spinal injury after colliding head-one with a teammate as both chased a line drive Sunday. Taylor underwent surgery Monday afternoon at St. Mary's Hospital in Athens and will continue rehabilitation at the Shepherd Center.

Only family members are currently able to visit Taylor, according to a website set up by his family. Taylor's family has posted updates on his condition on the website, which also has a guest book filled with hundreds of messages to injured player.

Taylor's long-term prognosis is not yet known.

Taylor, of Acworth, is a former standout at North Cobb High School. Taylor, a junior, has compiled a .312 batting average in 117 games for the Bulldogs, who are playing in a weekend tournament in Los Angeles.
