  • This is a key Southeast Division and Eastern Conference game. The Thrashers sit in fifth place in the conference with 37 points, tied with the Rangers but with a game in hand on New York. The Lightning are eighth in the conference, but just a point behind the Thrashers.
  • The Thrashers have won 10 of their last 12 games.

  • The Lightning won both meetings this season, by the scores of 5-3 and 5-2. The Thrashers last defeated the Lightning on Oct. 3, 2009, in their first meeting last season.
  • Dustin Byfuglien, the Thrashers' leading scorer, has a point in 10 of his last 12 games. He has 14 points (five goals, nine assists) during the span.
