Notable: The Thrashers trail the Capitals by seven points in the Southeast Division. ... The Capitals, 5-4 winners over the Thrashers last Thursday, return with Alexander Ovechkin. Going into Wednesday night's play, Ovechkin led the NHL in goals (11), was second in points (19) and was second in plus-minus rating (plus-11). ... The Capitals are coming off a 4-2 win over Philadelphia Tuesday. ... The Thrashers have lost three straight, the past two at home. Ondrej Pavelec is likely to start in goal for the Thrashers.
