Thrashers winger Niclas Bergfors was named to the NHL’s All-Rookie team Wednesday.

Bergfors played 27 games with the Thrashers after being acquired in February as part of the trade that sent Ilya Kovalchuk to New Jersey. He had 17 points (eight goals, nine assists) with the Thrashers. Including 54 games with the Devils, he finished with 44 points (21 goals, 23 assists).

Also named to the All-Rookie team were goaltender Jimmy Howard (Detroit), defensemen Tyler Myers (Buffalo) and Michael Del Zotto (New York Rangers) and forwards Matt Duchene (Colorado) and John Tavares (New York Islanders). Myers won the Calder Trophy as Rookie of the Year.
