Many NHL goalies customize their helmets with artwork for a personal message. Here are six All-Stars and the message behind their masks.

In 1968, Boston Bruins goaltender Gerry Cheevers became the first to decorate his mask. Since then many have followed, adding a unique style to the men between the pipes. In Cheevers' case, the Hall of Famer added stitch marks every time a puck struck his mask.
