Fabian Rivas, Meadowcreek

Achievements: Scored a school-record 27 goals this season, named Gwinnett County Striker of the Year and led Meadowcreek to the program's first state title.

Position: Striker

Height/Weight: 5-foot-6, 138 pounds

Class: Sophomore

College choice: Undecided

College choices: I have not gotten that far in my process, yet. I am focused on finding my role with my Meadowcreek teammates, although my goal is to go pro.

Best high school moment: The best moment for me was when I first found out I made the varsity team as a sophomore. It was a great accomplishment and also something that I could grow from.

Why soccer: It's a tradition that just runs in the family. My whole family enjoys the game.

What you would like to be doing in 10 years: I would love to be a pro, but if not that, then a technical engineer.

Favorite high school course: I love science. It's a subject that excites me because of all the different fields and career choices.

People who helped along the way: My father. He's pushed me to always strive to become better and to never settle. It is great to have that support on and off the field.

Toughest high school opponent: Pebblebrook. They were just like us at Meadowcreek — really good, fast and strong on the ball. There are so many talented teams in Georgia.

Favorite movie: My favorite movie is "Goal: The Dream Begins." It's a great soccer story that shows how to play the game with passion and determination.

Favorite song: My favorite song is "Slide" by Calvin Harris

Worst high school moment: My worst is breaking my nose at the state championship and losing minutes due to treatment. I just wanted to get back on the field.

If you could be any other athlete on earth: Thierry Henry, because he played with so many excellent players and was also a technical finisher.

Money or happiness: Happiness, because money comes and goes, but happiness should always stay.

Best word to describe yourself: Thorough. I like to take pride in my work and that requires a thorough approach.

View of the world at this moment: This is a cold and cruel place at times, but finding peace will always be my mission.

What you would put in a time capsule? 2017 Meadowcreek soccer state champions trophy. My Nike Jordan Hypervenoms and my Meadowcreek jersey (No. 13).
