A look at 2007-08 Gwinnett high school football player arrests, spotlighting Central Gwinnett's Diante Drake and Norcross' Prince Kent.

Central Gwinnett star RB Diante Drake was released from Gwinnett County jail Aug. 7, 2008, after his arrest Aug. 4 on one count of marijuana possession, according to a Gwinnett County Police Department incident report.

Norcross senior DB Prince Kent also faces legal troubles stemming from a March 14, 2008, BB gun shooting incident involving his former Blue Devils basketball teammate, Al-Farouq Aminu. Aminu pled guilty to three misdemeanors Aug. 7, receiving probation and community service. Kent will reportedly receive the same deal.

After leading Gwinnett County in touchdowns as a sophomore, Drake (7, with ball) rushed for 1,501 yards and 18 touchdowns for Central Gwinnett last season and is expected to have a strong senior season.

Aminu told detectives that Kent (5, in blue) fired the shot that struck a Norcross woman in the stomach as she unloaded items from her car, according to Gwinnett prosecutor Tom Ludlam.

Kent (right, with mother Bernetta Walker at left) has given a verbal commitment to attend the University of Miami (FL).

The latest arrest for marijuana possession is Drake's second in nine months on the same charge, the first one occurring Dec. 1, 2007.
