One of Georgia’s most prominent girls basketball programs with a recent state championship in its history is getting hot at the right time.

Norcross, the Class 7A champion in 2022 and a runner-up in 2023, defeated Brookwood, Berkmar and Parkview last week by an average of 43 points to stretch its win streak to 11 games and moved into the rankings for the first time this season at No. 9 in Class 6A.

The Blue Devils opened the season with losses to Hebron Christian and St. Francis, the two top-ranked teams in the Class 3A-A private division, and endured a three-game losing streak in December that included losses to Class 6A No. 1 North Paulding (50-46), Class 4A No. 1 Creekside (51-38) and South Carolina top-25 team Dorman (47-38). They haven’t lost in 2025.

The Blue Devils, who have won four state titles, all since 2010, are 18-5 overall and 13-0 in Region 7-6A heading into their regular-season finale Tuesday against Duluth. They have clinched first place in the region.

Norcross is one of six new teams in the girls rankings this week. The others are Harris County, which replaced Jackson-Atlanta in Class 4A; Monroe, which replaced White County in Class 3A; East Laurens, which replaced Washington County in Class A Division I; Charlton County, which replaced Early County in Class A Division II; and Savannah Country Day, which replaced Christian Heritage in Class 3A-A private.

For the first time in three weeks, all eight No. 1-ranked teams remained the same. They are North Paulding in Class 6A, River Ridge in 5A, Creekside in 4A, Fayette County in 3A, Thomson in 2A, Banks County in A Division I, Wilcox County in A Division II and Hebron Christian in 3A-A private.

Creekside (24-0) is one of three remaining unbeaten girls teams in the state. The others are Class 6A No. 2 North Forsyth (24-0) and Class 4A No. 3 Warner Robins (22-0).
