There's a reason Valdosta has long been called "Winnersville" and with ESPN dubbing the South Georgia city 'TitleTown,' the tradition continues. The lion's share of Valdosta titles came as legendary Valdosta High football coach Wright Bazemore (here, in 1971) posted a 268-51-7 record with 14 state titles and three national titles from 1941 to '71 with the Wildcats. In all, the 'Cats have won 21 state football championships from 1940-2003.
