The running back who gained more than 200 yards in a game between unbeaten teams last week and the state’s leading passer are in the GHSF Daily/Atlanta Journal-Constitution Player of the Year Watch this week.

Chris Jordan of Thomson and Joshua Dobbs of Alpharetta replace West Forsyth quarterback A.J. Erdely and Camden County halfback/cornerback J.J. Green.

Jordan has rushed for 1,685 yards for a 9-0 team that has played the toughest schedule in Class AAA. Dobbs has passed for a Georgia-best 2,618 yards after a 432-yard, five-touchdown performance last week against Lambert.

1. RB Tyren Jones, Walton: Jones rushed for 128 yards and one touchdown on 32 carries in a 27-7 victory over Milton. Jones, who has committed to Alabama, has rushed for 1,675 yards and 16 touchdowns on 262 carries (6.4 ypc) on the season. Jones leads the highest classification in rushing and is third in the state. Walton is 6-2 and unranked in Class AAAAAA.

2. QB Deshaun Watson, Gainesville: Watson did not play last week. For the season, Watson is 149-of-211 passing (71 percent) for 2,118 yards and 29 touchdowns with seven interceptions, none in region play. Watson has rushed for 731 yards and 11 touchdowns on 114 carries (6.4 ypc). Watson, a junior, has committed to Clemson. Gainesville is 7-1 and ranked No. 4 in Class AAAAA.

3. RB Nick Chubb, Cedartown: Chubb rushed for 395 yards and six touchdowns on 45 carries in a 49-35 victory over Cass. Chubb, a junior, leads the state in rushing with 2,372 yards on 264 carries (8.9 ypc). He has scored 35 touchdowns. Chubb is on pace to break the state record for rushing yards in a season, held by Daccus Turman of Washington-Wilkes (3,172), in the third quarter of the 11th game, but his team must win out in the regular season and get some help to make the playoffs. Cedartown is 5-3 and unranked in Class AAAA.

4. QB Eddie Printz, Lassiter: Printz was 24-of-40 passing for four touchdowns and 259 yards in a 37-23 victory over Wheeler. On the season, Printz is 152-for-241 passing for 2,096 yards. Printz has 7,888 passing yards for his career, which ranks eighth all-time in Georgia. Lassiter is 8-0 and ranked No. 2 in Class AAAAAA.

5. QB Taylor Lamb, Calhoun: Lamb threw five touchdown passes and was 19-of-32 passing for 296 yards in a 53-0 victory over Armuchee. For the season, Lamb is 169-of-253 passing for 2,029 yards and 22 touchdowns with three interceptions. He has rushed for 217 yards on 37 carries and scored six touchdowns. Lamb has committed to South Alabama. Calhoun is 8-0 and ranked No. 1 in Class AA.

6. QB Donquell Green, Burke County: Green did not play last week. For the season, Green, a junior, has rushed for 1,189 yards and 20 touchdowns on 118 carries (10.0 ypc) and completed 55 of 86 passes (64 percent) for 817 yards and seven touchdowns with one interception. Burke County is 7-1 and ranked No. 3 in Class AAAA.

7. RB Alvin Kamara, Norcross: Kamara rushed for 104 yards on 16 carries and caught four passes for 76 yards and two touchdowns in a 36-3 victory over Peachtree Ridge that clinched the Region 7-AAAAAA title for the Blue Devils. For the season, Kamara has rushed for 1,263 yards and 14 touchdowns on 162 carries (7.8 ypc) and has 11 receptions for 110 yards and two touchdowns. Kamara, ranked the No. 1 running back in Georgia and No. 5 back in the nation by ESPN, has not made his college choice. Norcross is 9-0 and ranked No. 3 in Class AAAAAA.

8. RB Chris Jordan, Thomson: Jordan rushed for 204 yards on 35 carries and scored all four of his team's touchdowns in a 28-14 victory over then-No. 3 Washington County last week. For the season, Jordan has rushed for 1,685 yards and 18 touchdowns on 186 carries (9.1 ypc) against the toughest schedule for any Class AAA team. Thomson is 9-0 and ranked No. 2 in AAA.

9. Joshua Dobbs, Alpharetta: Dobbs was 16-of-21 passing for 432 yards and five touchdowns in a 35-7 victory over Lambert. For the season, Dobbs leads the state in passing yards with 2,618. He has completed 163 of 287 attempts for 20 touchdowns with nine interceptions. He has scored eight touchdowns and rushed for 361 yards on 62 carries. Dobbs has committed to Arizona State. Alpharetta is 5-3 and unranked in Class AAAAAA.

10. QB Malcolm Parrish, Brooks County: Parrish, a junior, was 14-of-31 passing for 233 yards and a touchdown in a 35-21 victory over Cook. He scored two touchdowns. On the season, Parrish is 128-of-250 passing for 2,205 yards and 21 touchdowns with three interceptions. He has rushed for 456 yards and 13 touchdowns on 130 carries. Brooks County is 9-0 and ranked No. 2 in Class AA.
